Lazy Afternoons
|
Host:
Jake Taylor
Schedule:
Wednesday 4:30-5:30p
RIYL:
This is where the show description normally goes, but the host(s) of this show have not yet written one. I know, I know, they are an embarrassment to the rest of us here at the Growl, and I assure you that they will suffer the consequences. Whips and chains, unless they like that sort of thing, and then no whips and chains for them. Don't worry though, we're on top of it.

Scatterbrain Speakerbox
|
Host:
David Engbrecht
Schedule:
Wednesday 6:00-8:00p
RIYL:
Much like myself, I want my show to be a well produced car crash. From one topic to the next, nothing is taboo – well, as long as it complies with guidelines and this doesn’t turn into some sort of Howard Stern Show. Any and every kind of music will be played, this won’t be the radio you hear everyday in your car, this will be radio for the educated and diverse people. With topics ranging from college classes to comic books and politics, no stone will be overlooked or unturned.
Why? Where else will you be able to hear Regina Spektor played after Mudvayne or Johnny Cash before Mindless Self Indulgence? I plan to really bring a true sense of diversity to the music played on the Growl. From classical to electronica, I promise the show will never bore. The last thing I want you to do is to know what will happen next. Also, where else in town will you be able to talk about professional wrestling and then the nest minute the true meaning of love – or at least how a president and his interest in an overbearing oil industry cause us all to go cuckoo for coco puffs.

Weekly Allowance
|
Host:
Kyle Lancaster
Schedule:
Tuesday 4:00-5:00p
RIYL:
I like playing videogames, and roller hockey. Watching Futurama, and King of the Hill, and South Park is awesome...but I pretty much only watch the DVD's. When I was three I visited Disney World, and was afraid of everything and cried the whole time except when I was on the Dumbo ride. I thought you should know that. My favorite band is Blink-182, and you can tell Rolling Stone that my last words were.... I dig music.

Just leave it alone
and let your nerves sink in.
You'll like what enters,
as long as you keep your ears open... - Bailie
PS. if the music sounds weird to you, it's only weird 'cause you haven’t heard it. "

Reality TV
This is the story of 10 students who stopped being polite and started getting Real. It’s the first reality-based radio show. |
Soulstar
|
Host:
Rembrandt Jones, DJ DJ
Schedule:
Monday 9:00-10:00p
RIYL:
Our main focus is to play GOOD unheard/underground music that gets no play from conventional radio; AND to give listeners information and perhaps some insight on selected music (local and national). Our music focuses mostly on the hip-hop, electric soul, funk, and rap genres, but it isn’t restricted to that. We will play whatever we deem fit to play, using our main focuses as a guideline. If our music selection deviates from the genres listed, it is only because the selection is “noteworthy music.” We will attempt to stay as far from top 40/pop/contemporary as we can. We will have special guests frequently.
Why? If people want to hear funky/wil’n music that doesn’t get conventional radio play or respect, then they should listen to Soulstar.

All The Best You've Never Heard
|
Host:
Kevin Gates
RIYL:
An eclectic mix of pop, rock, and other variations of the two from bands who scream for mainstream recognition yet receive nothing. All the best feature artist interviews, enlightened musical commentary, and a slew of tunes from the local scene, Midwest, coasts, Europe and more. Tune in and find your new favorite band.
Why? Entertainment baby! Aside from the joy of listening to new music that you probably should have already been listening to, All The Best promises plenty of spontaneity with a dash of unpredictability (all without any nasty profanity) from the show’s less-than-sane hosts.

Soundtrack Pub
|
Host:
DJ Sampson
Schedule:
Monday 11:00a-12:00p
RIYL:
This show is about playing music soundtracks from feature films. This theme is broad enough to encompass music of all types and genre. Also, for the promotional side I can bring in movie sounds and quotes. Interviews, political commentary, student polls, and hopefully a few guests will visit the show down the road.
Why? Listen to the show because I’m going to do my best to make sure the music is very laid back. I’ll be able to play music according to the genre of movie it comes from. In addition, I’d like to have some interesting conversations and guests interviews take place on the show as well.

|
